I have been seeing more and more cruisers here in Charlottesville, and was wondering if any of them belong to fellow mudders from here. I am assuming this is the right clubhouse to post in since c'ville is between the bay and the blue ridge mntns. Anyways, if there is a local group that gets together around here, I would be interested in meeting you guys and joining up. As with most of you, I have become a bit obsessed with landcruisers.

I do not think we have any current members in C-Ville. You are welcome to come check us out. We alternate meeting locations from Ashland to Thornburg.

Thanks for posting,
Rob

I work at UVA but live in Culpeper. My cruiser is a trailer queen though. I have also seen a bunch here as of late, mostly 80s.

If you get a chance, head on over to Cole's Import Service - he's been working on his 55 for a while now...give him a kick in the ass for me.

Not a member here. Would like to meet up with the the club one of these days. Can't seem to make it down that way on a weeknight between family, and work. I'm in Free Union. I've got a mental log of Cruiser sitings around here. We've definitely got some nice rigs floating around. I've met a few guys. A few mud members too. Funny, I was just thinking to myself that it would be nice if some local guys could get together for some trail rides or parts trading or whatever. That's why I was poking my head over here. :D

Yup, the reason I started this thread was bc of all the nice cruisers I have been seeing. So which one is yours? Do you drive a 40, 60, or 80? Hopefully some more people will see this and we can all get something going.

The 2 cruisers I see the most are both 60's, One blue and one Tan. Both lifted with roof racks, and are always parked at that little service station next to the bypass exit on Barracks. I guesss coming from Free Union, you see those everyday.

I live in Charlottesville ... own a Red 91' FJ80 with an OME lift, ARB front bumper, half ARB roof rack.

Yup, see those 60's at the Exxon on Barracks all the time. I keep meaning to stop by to see what the deal is. I guess they must belong to someone that works there? They've been there for quite some time now. I stopped by there a couple years back when they had a 62 with a for sale sign. I was told they had been working on it for a lady, and she decided to just sell it. If I remember correctly it went pretty cheap. I believe they told me they would take 800. Looked like a really solid body. My buddy was going to by it, but missed it. The owner or manager of the shop said he was surprised by how much interest it got. Didn't know they had such a following. I think it went to a good home though. I believe he told me it was a TLCA member. Might be on Mud?

I DD a burgundy 1st gen.Tundra. Got a TLCA sticker and KM2's. I take a smurf blue 40 to town from time to time. (see my "garage" under my username) Usually head the "other direction" with that. ;)

(Maybe you/I should start a thread in chat since we're not currently members here) ? Been hoping to see some local guys organized/in contact for social stuff for a while now. Don't mean to step on you BBRC guys toes. (Blue Ridge chapter possibly? ) We've certainly got some Cruiser-heads around here. I know you guys are familiar with a some of the trails in the area. I'd love to meet up some time when you're down this way. I can just about throw a rock to Crozet. Just thinkin' out loud. :meh: I need to bite the bullet and come down to Ashland some Wednesday, I guess. Scott
