Any pros or cons to owning painted or powder coated black wheels? I don't see many around town or even on this forum.

Anyone have any photos of your 100 with them? Thanks.
 
I'm going to powdercoat mine soon. I've had three sets of powdercoated wheels on other rigs and they always held up well. I have spray painted black wheels on the 60 now, and it works great, because you can touch them up anytime on the fly.
 
Any pix you can post? I'm seriously considering some black wheels for something different. Any favorites?

Howdy! I had custom wheels made for offset reason, and I had them unfinished. I got them powder coated locally, and I chose satin finish, just a little bit of glow, but no shine, so they match my trail rig, which has a lot of satin black on it. They have held up great for over 5 years. John
 
I had mine powdercoated. They have held up very well, don't show the brake dust or dirt, and wash very easily. Would definately recommend having it done. Cost me $75/wheel. My only problem is the lug nuts. I figured it would be dumb to paint those, since the paint would chip as soon as you installed them--and I have not been able to find any black nuts on the market.

Are those the stock wheels or aftermarket? Apparently, I need to stick with a 8 width on wheels to fit my 2001 LC. That limits my choice in 18" wheels as most I've seen are 18x9. Any recommendations on manufacturers that make an 18x8? Otherwise, looks like I need to go with 17's or stay with 16's.
 
My rims are stock.

In re-reading the title of your post, I realize now that you may be seeking comments from blacks who own wheels. Sorry, I don't qualify.
 
With 9" width, are you saying I'd need spacers of some sort? I'm a wheel rookie so I'm learning as I go.

Nice SINCITY100, that's actually the color of my LC. Are those stock 16" or 18" wheels?
 
They are 16`s.

But after only 6 months or so running Swampers on my rig, I couldnt wait to throw them in an incinerator ... My God those tires were rough to live with !

I Just fitted a set of 305/70/16 Toyo MT`s... NOW I am in heaven ! :)
 
Yeah, I love the look of the Toyo MT's but I don't want to lift or modify my rig right now so I'm looking for the largest tire I can fit without mods.

Someone said the Pro Comp MT's look similar to the Toyo MT's, but more size choices.

Nice! Who manufactures those wheels? How do those MTR's run on pavement?
