if doing a alcan 4 inch lift sua in hopes of running 35s, should I plan on having to add an anti wrap bar on the rear similar to what is needed when doing soa?

also after reading many posts over and over I think i understand that a cut and turn will not be needed for 4 inch sua.

thanks for any advice

I ran 4" SUA Alcans on an 85' FJ-60... no wrap bar needed... I did run caster correction in the form of 2 degree shims SOR part number 287-82.. others may say different but I had no wrap issues on that wagon... is SOA out of the question for you? a low SO clears 35's no problem and is a really nice ride with stock springs (with 1-2 leaves added)...

I've got a soa 72 my son drives, it is too soft on the front end and wants to dive and wander at times. it clears 36s. I think the front drivers spring is just wore out the wrap around band is all deformed and it sits low on that side. I was thinking that I would take the good condition springs out of my project and use them on his, maybe with a add a leaf, and put alcans on mine. don't do any rock crawling but do ride in knee deep powder alot.

when you said add a leaf or two, did you mean from factory stacks or like manafre add a leafs?

thanks for the help

I used factory leaves to add strength and resiliency to the worn out (but nice and flexy) stock springs..

one lef in the front and two in the back on my SOA. Ride nice, no diving or wandering, cut and turned though.... HTH

Howdy! I highly recommend the anti-wrap bar for just about any rig with bigger tires and/or extra power. It lets you run 2wd low range whenever you want. I run it a lot that way to dut down on the driveline windup since I run LockRights in both ends. Just got to remember to slip it back into 4wd with you need it. I have forgotten several times and wondered why I was struggling to get thru moderate obstacles. OOps!! John
