I sold the old Grand Wagoneer after 15 years and 250,000 trouble free miles, and was forced to take the cruiser out in the rain. This truck has never even been to a mall, we refer to her as the hanger queen. I can hear it now!!!! Anyway it was really coming down here today in central Florida, and the old girl did'nt much like it.

Water was ponding in the channel the wire loom travels thru on the passenger side floorboard. I quickly removed the kick panel, pulled the end of the sunroof drain hose thru the hole in the door pillar and into the cabin. The tube looked brand new and water was flowing thru it. Running my finger around the inside of the pillar above the floor line, the pillar was completely dry. I found a very light stream of water flowing on the forward side of the door pillar, where the wire loom travels vertically up the pillar.

I pulled the vehicle into the garage opened the sunroof and slowly poured about a quart of water into the pan. As quickly as I poured the water, it drained on to my garage floor.

Thanks in advance for any help, incidentally she's a 96LC

Windshield?

Somewhere mine was leaking, and puddling just where you indicated was a small hole on the firewall, directly above the brake pedal. The PO had run wires through it and enlarged it, so when the water ran down the cowl it dripped down right onto and in that hole. Took me a year to figure it out. It only would do it during/after a REAL hard rain.

I've got one in the windshield too...only found it after searching and reading old posts on thid board. Get it out in the rain again or have someone take a hose to it on the PS while you watch from the inside. If this is your problem you'll see a tiny trickle in the bottom right corner of the windshield, right over the rubber molding. Seems to have something to do with having the windshield replaced and either not installed correctly or re-using the molding.

If the window glass is not original, it might have been replaced without using the exact "seat" and be offset to some degree (as explained by the NOVUS car glass tech that just re-installed my rear glass on the LC). Apparently the seat is a rubber or foam insert that the glass sits in.

My rear glass was letting water in, so had it removed and reinstalled in two hours for $A110. No more water or exhaust gas intrusion.

Thanks for your thoughts, my windshield is still original although that doesn't mean its not leaking. I'll get out the hose and go to work. I'll post what I find seems to be a common problem
