I have searched but found way too much info.....I just picked up a 93 LC with 140 K miles, Kazuma supercharger...I live in Texas and right now it's 100 degrees every day. What weight and brand oil have you guys to be the best? Is there a best filter or one to stay away from? And last question...the truck idles in gear at about 600 rpm and at 600 rpm the stock oil pressure guage is at the second to the last hash mark. at 700 rpm it jumps up good. Is this oil pres ok for just idling?

Seek posts by forum member Cary. He is our resident oil Guru. There are pages and pages of info on oil here. In short, Mobile1 0W40 and Shell Rotella Synthetic 5W40 are two of the more popular/ more discussed oils.
The best filter seems to be the Toyota 20004 filter, but they are getting hard to come by. IIRC, the Napa Gold, Mobile1 and K&N Oil filters are decent alternatives.
I'm not sure about your last question.

To answer your last question...Take what your oil gauge shows with a grain of salt. Try installing a mechanical oi pressure gauge and compare what it reads to the service specs found in the FSM. If the numbers don't jive, you can rebuild the bypass valve found in the oil cooler.
