Sounds like a great trip, why don't you guys pick a date and plan this thing out. Remember the Fall Crawl is the 7-9 of Oct. Could rent one of those big a$$ houses if enough people wanted to go. Off season rates used to be reasonable.

so, we went back for turkey day week...

weather was quite nice with only one half day with rain, near 70 the other days, kids played in the surf, i fished. didn't catch a thing!

took the kids up to the wild horse area. we did the tour 2 years ago also in november so we saw the trails to use, had to find them on google maps and then went back. my wife said that driving on sand and the brush/bush reminder her of Tanzania. but these zebras didn't have stripes....

oh, and my PS blew up again, got it fixed the week after our fun trail ride - https://forum.ih8mud.com/va-dc-md-capital-land-cruiser-club/524919-november-trail-ride.html it blew on the last hour of downhill trail portion. That plus the 2 hr drive home = the PS pump was dead since it ran so long without fluid. shocker: the system blew again and spewed fluid all over the bait shop's parking lot on my 3rd day there.

had to fedex parts from cruiserdan to the obx before everything shut down for turkey day proper. pita buying the tools i needed but didn't pack. anyways, learned a lot more than i planned to about my PS system on a vacation. we had 2 cars so it wasn't too bad. it blew close enough to our vaca house that i made it home before it ran dry, so the new OEM ps pump was not trashed. no leaks since replacing the parts sent by cdan, phew. my wife was starting to "i'm not so sure about taking this thing on vacations..." we dont' need that kinda talk!

For a fall trip(or any time of year for that matter) if the gang wants to make it further south to the southern end of Hatteras or Lookout national seashore, i have a 30 ft Grady White that we can through into the mix as well. Its not a Cruiser, but it can handle a lot more water than even the best snorkel. Could be a really good time!

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

I would have given you a hand if I had known. I was in Corolla for the holidays with a full set of tools.

I just replaced my PS pump a few months ago.

By the way, my radio antenna has the same mod
