A couple weeks ago I gave up trying to find an already built 100 to buy, and focused on finding a stock one that I could get a good deal on at the end of the year. I narrowed it down to 6 from around the country that were 03'+, 100k ish miles, had exceptional service histories, and weren't listed for more than $25k...so I started negotiating.

I ended up making a deal for $21k for this 2006 in Maine. I also negotiated tires of my choice at their cost, the local tire place they work with had 275/70 duratracs in stock, I wanted a bit larger but they couldn't get them in time, but for under a $1000 mounted/balanced/aligned I wasn't going to split hairs. So I flew up to Portland this morning and drove her home, 13.6 mpg average, wooo!

It has AHC, which I was on the fence about, but we'll give it a shot. If it's a decent day tomorrow I'll do a little work on the interior, and take the running boards and bug deflector off. On Monday I'll order a DT cat back, and also get the bumpers ordered; at the moment I can't decide on BIOR for front/rear/sliders or blueberry/Slee rear and WKOR sliders. I've been speaking to Mike Smith about a slightly customized front bumper, but the recent blueberry pix that have been posted are giving me second thoughts...although I guess both are good options, so I can't go wrong.

Wow good deal! You did well with this one. You'll love the duratracs. Welcome to the 100's

Nice truck! That's a great color. And a screaming good price. Personally, I think Slee has the best front bumper design (blueberry) and Mike has the best rear bumper (high clearance). Good luck on your build!

The mileage will only get worse...

Congrats and nice color! I can't speak to the bumpers, but WKOR has great sliders and excellent customer service!

Great deal and good choice.

I wish that I had the 5 speed....

Very nice looking truck at a heck of a good price. My favorite color and an '06 no less. Look forward to seeing your build up progress.

Nice find and great color! Awesome price too. I just paid $21.5 for my '06 a few weeks ago and had to go to Houston, TX to get it. You got a steal, especially with new tires. I just put 285 BFG A/T's on mine and it was almost $1500 from Discount Tire. Look forward to seeing your build.

Thanks guys!

My other DD is an Audi Rs6, maybe it's still the honeymoon stage, but sitting up high and having a 'don't F with me type vehicle' in the DC area is kinda nice

Congrats on the purchase. Looks like you got a great deal. I can't help with any other the other stuff though....Good luck.

That thing is gorgeous. And you got a killer deal!

Must...resist...temptation...to buy...another...vehicle

$21,500 for an '06? Please tell me it's got over 100,000 miles on it - or the bottom has dropped out of the hundy market. I paid over $30k for my 06 in April of 2011. It had 39,000 miles on it.

Yours looks awesome! Love that color too.

Yup, it has a hair over 100k, but also flawless service history. The PO didn't miss one service interval with his dealer.

Thanks!
