Hi all. Got a '95 80 a month or so ago, and have been working on it several hours a day to get it trail ready.. acutally, nearly bone stock and all of the time has been spent reading mud threads..

any way, I have enjoyed the hell out of reading your guys' posts and hopefully I can hook up with you for a trip sometime. Also, if anyone is an 80 genius, I could use some help picking out a lift and fixing my heater.

all hail Kenny Powers MFCEO!!!

80 guys all dabble in the same gene pool...they all use the 2.5" OME....plus it works.

Heater? whats wrong?

John, your "wanna be an 80 guy" slip is showing!

Look at you answering 80 guy questions.....

He needs to talk to Dan...Dan has an awesome set of tools....

I "wanna 80"....I don't "wanna be an 80 guy". I wouldn't fit in with 80 folk.

Dan has "the ultimate set of tools" not "awesome"...get your spicoli lingo in order.

Sorry....I was pretty stoned last time I watched "Fast times..."

apology accepted.

That's awesome.....I mean ultimate ......no wait....oh hell, thanks man!

Thanks for the... er.. greetings?...

Thinking about the ome, also the ironman. Someone said they went to the ironman from ome and it was a better (comfort wise) ride.. Some folks are saying the nitrochargers are cheap rebranded shocks. Who knows... I'd like to ride on some or see them in action. For the short term will probably get some oem shocks. mostly I want something that is badass and works without the washboard effect..

For the heater, I think it is the servo or the transmitter (hot/cold slide thing). I can cycle the heater valve manually and make it hot. I need to get into the dash, I may be the mixing damper/valve too. I have a FSM but I'm hesitant to start ripping into it. I also butchered my antenna yesterday, so I'll have to do it anyway to run a new antennae coax..

I also wouldn't mind someone taking a look at the truck overall to see if it's a ticking time bomb. It's only got 92k, but I'm finding little things here and there on this "pristine rig" that are making me wonder (rust, paintwork, the krylon touch, etc).

Thanks,
Jason

Ya, I'm for sure going to do the caster bushings. Found a guy to fix an exhaust leak for me and he has a press too.. Still not sure what degree bushings yet or where to order them from.

Btw, Gum, was reading your camper build thread ( as well as others) and that thing is awesome. Did you take it on that badlands trip? Does it smell all brokeback mountainy now? I'm not implying from you or anything. It could have been from some homeless people who slept in it, then used it as a restroom before moving on.. Hopefully they left your Creedence tapes..

I hate thumb typing.

How did this thread go so wrong as to end up back on track & with real advice & opinions....

What is this world coming too?

Broke back mountain? Homeless people? Urine on the camper floor....who does this new guy party with?

I was on submarines for a few years, so pretty much nothing is off limits.. humorwise..

Ahem... awkward..

well, anyways.. do you guys like gladiator films?..

You know what they say about Navy boys.....1000 men head out to sea....500 couples return....

See.....there IS someone for each of us...
