my tent came last weekend, but i left for breckenridge the day after. dislocated my elbow snowboarding, so haven't gotten to set it up properly. will post more pics as soon as i get it out and mounted. i also got my water tank off ebay. it's a 21 gallon and measures 39"x16"x8" and fits perfectly in the tub.

after looking at the prices of yakima and thule racks and all the crap you have to buy with it to make it work in my application, i decided to build a permanantly mounted rack on the top of my lid. this will give me a place to mount my tent, carry other junk and eventually somewhere to mount my kayak and bike. i got the idea from izzydusit over on expedition portal. he's done a great job on his trailer. here's a pic of his rack-hope he doesn't mind.

the main difference is my tent will be mounted above the rack on some removable crossbars so i can carry more crap, and it'll be made of round tube.

finished my rack today. just have to paint the whole thing and then fab up some cross bars to mount the tent on.

i used 1.05 inch gas pipe as i couldn't find any tube on short notice. it's a little heavier, but it doesn't add up to enough to matter.

got my tent mounted on some thule crossbars. very easy to mount.

first time setting it up was a breeze. and with practically no instructions. it did come with some vague instructions, but you don't need them anyway. i know you've read write ups on the tent, so i'll just tell you i'm trilled with it and then show you some pictures.

when we got to the campsite it was cold, dark and raining. the tent setup was fast and easy and stayed dry as a bone inside. we ended up moving about 100yards down the bank the next morning to get a little closer to the mighty missip.
