So I need to bleed the brakes to my new to me gx470. But I live by myself and don't have anyone to ask to pump the brakes and operate the key for me while I crack the bleeder. I can maybe ask my neighbor if I really needed to. But I don't want to bother them if I can help it.
So. I've always bled my brakes solo. I have a vacuum bleeder and it has always worked extremely well for me on my other cars. But with the abs operated rear brakes. I'm not sure how well it'll work out. So I was hoping if someone can approve what I'm planning on doing.
So, would I be able to start the vacuum bleeder, crack the bleeder, hop into the driver seat to depress the brake pedal, and turn the key? Then walk back to close the bleeder and turn off the vacuum? Or will that introduce a bunch of air and I'll need to get a second person? I can't imagine that it would introduce air into the system. I just don't know if it will or not.
Or should I just jam my jack handle between the seat and brake pedal, turn the key, then crack the bleeder?
Thanks in advance!
