Looooong time lurker and I'm finally starting my 2004 landcruiser build. I've owned the truck sine 2011, 2nd owner now with 160K trouble free miles. Wifey was using it as a daily driver but now its my turn! First step was detailing and a visit later tonight to the audio shop for prices on adding bluetooth, sat and speaker upgrades.

She needs shocks so I'm thinking next is the OME kit incl 2" lift.

Sounds like good upgrades. Better decide if you are going with light, medium or heavy on the OME!

Love the color ;-)

There's a lot (!) of info here on the OME shocks. The punchline: OME is one of the most respected brands in the category, their systems are one of the favorites for the 40, 60 and 80; their springs and TBs are favorites for the 100. But... the opinions vary on the shocks for the 100. It may be worth reading all those reviews before opening four of those boxes.

appreciate the advice but im gonna keep the OME shocks and give them a try. looking at tires now using the oem wheels. leaning towards the bf goodrich AT KO2 295/75

There are a lot of tire threads on here, but I don't really think 295/75/18 will fit without some serious work. Does that size even exist? 35.5" would also likely be better with a regear (4.88?).

typo...im meant 285/75/18. ive read those should work fine?

"Work" is relative. They're fit... and have some rub. Also, you'll need a plan for the spare - a 285/75/18 won't fit in the well.

hmmmm...im not going to deal with rubbing tires and spare storage at the moment so i ill have to do more research on the subject.

"They'll fit" not "They're..."

275/70/18 is the go-to size for the stockish 100s - they don't rub and fit in the spare well. They're right a 33" - a good balance of looks, performance, etc. for a DD truck without regearing and extensive mods.

definitely a DD and no extensive mods planned so this seems like the way to go. thanks manhattan!

I just ordered 5 BFG AT KO2 from tire rack for $1,045 delivered. seemed like a pretty good deal.

That's going to look great. It doesn't take much to get these trucks to look like Toyota intended - ditch the minivan steps, stick-on fender "garnishes" if the truck came from the South East, a little bit of TB adjusting (.75" in this pic) and those 275/70/18s...

your right the few simple changes transform the look of the truck.

For what it's worth, I run the 275/70/18s (KO2) and decided that they were the best combination of performance, price availability etc. I love the look of 34s and 35s on these cruisers, but, didn't want to deal with the appreciable sluggishness in an already pokey vehicle. Not to mention, if I am somewhere remote, i want the best chance of getting a replacement if needed. The running board delete and bigger tires are a must in my opinion on these vehicles, otherwise they might as well be a minivan.

Looking at the install now of the ome. I only rcd 1 packer so Im going to skip installing these.

Tires arrived..KO2's

@gkaan you are going to love those tires. I just put them on two weeks ago after talking to a few on here, and they look great.

In the last two weeks, I put on the 275/70/18 BFG KO2s on some Tundra TRD off road wheels (front center caps were tricky), removed the running boards, installed front mud flaps, and did the 3M vinyl car wrap fix on my fading trim. Easy changes that made a huge difference taking this from the soccer mom look to something much more respectable. Just need to crank my torsion bar to raise the front end about 1".

Check her out.
