Sorry, this is probably going to sound king of vague but I could use some help.

The squeal is about the pitch of a slipping belt, only metallic, more like that of an idler pulley going south, and is related to rpm’s. Doesn’t do it all the time, but more frequently when it’s warm. Only happens in gear under a light load and at rpm's ranging from about 1,100 to 2,000. Sound is related to engine rpm and not rolling speed. Does NOT do it in reverse except under compression braking in about the same RPM range. I haven’t been able to recruit my wife to drive by me in it yet, but will tonight so I can attempt to hone in on the source. From the cab, it sounds like it’s coming from the trans/transfer area but I could definitely have that wrong. Any educated guesses out there in Mud?

Thanks,
Butt

If it were clutch-in, I'd say pilot bearing. Possibly T/O bearing. "Feather" the clutch pedal the next time that you hear it, see if doing so changes the noise any.
