Hello guys, I've got the Vortec bolted to the transmission for locating engine mounts (major set back when I welded them on the wrong side, thinking I needed to cheat the motor towards the passenger side, it's the opposite), anyway cut those off last night and am now locating them the second time, but wondered if there's a specific angle I need for the TC, Transmission and engine in relation to the ground? I was going to position it in such a way that the driveshafts looked correct and the Advanced Adapter sat perpendicular to the cross member for the transmission mount. But is there some other factors. The way I have it set now, the oil pan for the transmission is slightly out of level tipping forward, the engine oil pan is slightly tipping back toward the rear. Matts mounts I think go flush with the top of the chassis, but there's some room for wiggle.

the front of the mount should be just about flush with the top of the frame. You'll want to shave off that rear gusset where it sticks up above the frame 1/2" or so.

Basically looks like you have it right. it's pretty easy.

Also in the future maybe start a single build thread to document your project and ask all your questions in so all of your information and progress is centrally located.

Sounds good, I have a lot of pictures so ultimately I'll create a thread with all of it. One other thing I forgot to mention is that the weight of the Transfer case tips the whole assembly to the passenger side. I'll correct that with the motor mounts, but I think this is going to put more wear on the passenger side motor mount.

That’s how it is on all the stock FJ60 and FJ62s. It’s not an issue. Normal.

The motor mount that gets messed up (after decades) is the driver’s side eventually. It tears in half from the torsional twisting of the engine in 4Lo gears. Engine twist literally pulls it apart.

Ok thanks for the input.
