Amount of coolant in a 93 80 series

My grandson replaced a hose on his cruiser. He doesn't have a clue of the amount of coolant needed. With his mom he bought a gallon of 50/50 mix. I'm thinking at least two and half gallons. Not in town so can't help him direct. Quick answer would be great.
