Amber lights in overhead console

I noticed these two lights have not gone out even after locking the car for 3 hours. Is there a switch somewhere to turn these off?

Or are they supposed to stay on all the time?

There’s no switch but they shouldn’t stay on all the time. EWD for my ’03 shows it coming off the tail relay, so if it’s on then a bunch of other things should be too ( ashtray, cigarette lighter, etc.)

That's the weird part. Nothing else is on. After a few minutes the entire truck goes dark except for the security light on the radio and the two amber lights above.

My overhead console is out right now so I can’t check, but I’m pretty sure it does.

Actually, I just looked at my overhead box and the thing I highlighted is some other illumination and not the amber lights. I can’t find those anywhere on the diagram. Sorry. Hopefully somebody else will post up whether or not theirs stay on

Looked a bit more and now I think it’s part of the garage door opener circuit. The EWD shows it being controlled by the sub-body ECU. Not sure where to take it from there. First pic is the EWD, second pic is the PWB from the overhead marked up with the light circuit.

I appreciate the photos and looking into this. Just wish I knew a thing or two about electronics. If all else fails I may just unplug the bulbs.

They are on a switch....

Don't come on with doors only switch.

I wish they came on with doors.

I'm pretty sure they are supposed to stay on all the time. It's a nightlight I'm pretty sure.
