Got my Caviar OT last week. Have done 500 miles of city and highway driving. I towed for a short distance even though I'm not supposed to before 500 miles. I have an 80 series, a GX470, 2 LX570s and have driven the previous model GX460. There is so much about this vehicle I want and need to discuss but do not have the time to write it all up. I still need to meet with the delivery specialist to sort out some technology--and there is a ton of it compared to my 2009 LX. I have only scratched the surface of the tech on this thing. To keep things brief for now, here are my pros and cons so far (I will probably edit this as I go):

Pros:

Looks amazing--I get compliments everywhere I go . The OT trim is right up my alley as I am an outdoorsman and spend almost every weekend fishing or hunting.
Power: More power in the V6 than I expected. Plenty to whatever you need. I am a big fan of the skinny pedal and this car does not disappoint.
Comfort: Seats and ride are very comfortable--not too plush and not too sporty
Tech: The driving technology is amazing to me, but keep in mind I have been driving a 2009 LX. The gadgets, ride mode, driver assistance options, safety options, and everything else is almost too much. Parking assist is great. I think the tech overall will be a PRO, but there are some cons for me I will discuss below.
ETA: after I started this thread, I started reading the manual in earnest. My god--I don't know how anyone can ever understand all of the features available, the exceptions, when a feature is available, when it is not. It is exhausting.
Multimedia: having carplay is amazing. Of course, I am used to an aux plug in my old LX. I am still struggling with some settings as far as display goes, but hope to figure out with delivery specialist next week.
Cool Box: I miss the storage of a console box but I really like cold water at the ready. It is hot in Louisiana and appreciate a little chilly wet water.
Towing: I towed a 25ft bay boat (appx 5K lbs) about 15 miles into town. It towed easily and capably.

Cons:

Rough Idle: For some reason, I find that the idle can be rough while sitting at a light or in park. Should not happen in a Lexus.
Factory Optional Roof Rack: While it looks great and certainly will function better than the stock base rack, it creates considerable wind noise at highway speed. I hope some wind visor might be developed to remedy this.
Charging/No charging pad: all charging ports are USB-C. Would be nice to have one USB-A as not all of our devices are USB-C. I did not get charging pad option. I will be looking at aftermarket options once a few Mudders figure it out. It has a 12V cigarette port that I am using for USB-A devices.
Heads up display: can't see it with polarized sunglasses
Cargo/rear seats. The cargo facing side of the rear seats are very high and flat. When they are situated in a comfortable position, taller objects like dog crates and ice chests cannot fully butt up and it wastes a good sized wedge of cargo space. I am so far OK with the rest of the cargo space but I see the need for a cargo carrier for long trips or more creative packing. The cargo mat I was provided does not fit properly--will have to check on that. The tie downs are a little wonky.
Driver Assistance Tech: I just want to drive the car without assisted braking and lane departure corrections. I simply want to drive normally and free of alarms to see how this thing really drives. I still need to mess with settings. Adaptive cruise control sucks, but now I know why people on the interstate can't seem to keep speed--because their damn adaptive cruise control keeps messing with them!
No HVAC in the headline to the cargo space. Only 2 small vents facing the rear seats in the console. Still, the AC works great and no complaints from the dog or kids yet.

Like the title says, ask away.

I read on another review that there’s some sort of driver awareness eye-tracking. Do you have that?
Damn. just saw that thread now--seems like we have similar experiences: First impressions Yes the eye tracking is there and it is annoying. Look to the side for 2.5 seconds and it beeps at you. Will be looking for ways to disable or change settings. Could be useful on long road trips where one might get sleepy, but daily driving it is not necessary.

8 speed behavior in stop and go traffic?
Turbo lag?
Infotainment crashes or issues when running Aa/Cp on long drive?
How involved is KDSS when on the tarmac vs offroad?

Interesting. Yeah I’ve heard it’s an issue with sunglasses too. Would be curious to hear if you can figure out how to turn it off.

I can't tell if the tranny or the driver assistance is causing behavior in stop and go traffic. i.e., not sure if it is shifting or if there is brake assisting going on.

No turbo lag so far

No crash yet

No offroading so have not used KDSS yet.

Its probably the powertrain tuning. The Ls500, Lx600 behaved similarly unless you gave it the beans.

I messed with some settings earlier today and turned off some of the driver assistance features. Will run without them for a bit and see what happens.

Have you changed drive modes to sport+, thats what improved some of that weirdness for the other vehicles?

I have changed the modes, but I have not driven them enough on the highways to see a difference. there are so many different options, it is hard to say for now.

Road trip (>500 miles) with some light wheeling at the other side, picking the keys for the GX550, LX, or 80?
I am actually doing this in two weeks. Taking the family to Telluride and Crested Butte for two week road trip. Taking the GX550 all day!

You can change it to use regular cruise control instead of adaptive.

I appreciate the info offered here. I wish people would stop complaining about the HUD issues when you're wearing polarized glasses. The HUD is just a reflection off the windshield. (Massive oversimplification coming, but the basic point stands) Polarized glasses are intended to prevent reflected light from getting to your eyeballs. It's like complaining that the audio system sounds different when you have earplugs in.

My car's HUD is the same way as I guess are all. Yes, need a different pair of sunglasses but you'll survive

I understand how polarization works. Sorry I "complained" in my own thread.

I have finally figured this out. took me a while.

On the 200, you just push the cruise control lever forward towards the dash and hold it there for a few seconds. But I realize the controls for cruise had changed on the 250.

My 200 did not have adaptive CC. I do miss the CC stick on it's own instead of the horn area
