has anybody used these brushes?

27371-31011 F, 2F..FJ4*, 55; 12V 40 & 50A 2 27371-50020 F..FJ40, 55; BLACK, 12V 55A 1 27377-31010 F, 2F..FJ40, 55; RED, 12V 55A 1

1st 2 pics are my brushes from my alternator....are these the 31011 brushes were i need 2 or the ones that need one of each?

When i bought the alternator SOR had it listed as a 55A but...the parts manual shows the brushes looking different from mine on the 55A in the manual.

I am thinking that sor has rewound 45A alternators to 55A....so I would need the standard brushes correct?

I am thinking the HD 55A alternator has different brushes than what mine look like correct...the 3rd pic is from a manual of a HD alternator?

just dont want to order the worng ones :meh:

The pain is relieved with a DELCO conversion.

why not hit up the local auto parts store for the brushes, they are available at kragen for sure. that way no shipping costs if they are wrong...

A quote from your link:
Auto Zone Beck Arnley # 178-1376 $14.99 a pair and they are special order. (These brushes also fit the 1980 Toyota Corona 2.2L 2BL if they don't list the Land Cruiser). A cheaper Beck Arnley part is # FAX57 for $2.99 each.

thanks coolerman for that thread....yep it looks the same.

Jim and Brett ....i'm going to take your suggestion and hit-up the local guys...i'm going to try the cheaper $2.99 brushes from auto zone...they will be in tomorrow.

I am thinking the length may be different? $2.99 and $14.99 is a big difference in price...we'll see what I get.

i got the 2.99 brushes...and the difference is that these are Graphite/Carbon and not the copper/bronze...ohhhh well ...this will be a spare alternator....i'll dish out the 14.99 for the copper ones on the next one.
