Hi all,

So I started on the belt tensioner pully. I figured it'd be a quick one. However, upon starting this job, there has been a leak from the two hoses that come out of the power steering reservoir. There is also a few lines I need to replace that were cracking or already messed up. As such, can someone recommend which parts to use for this please?

1. Both hoses that come out of the Power Steering Reservoir
2. Heater hose?
3. The other hose?
4. Power steering reservoir

Also, this power steering pully and such has tons of old stuff on it. How can I tell if it is still ok to reinstall, or should I just buy another one?

Than you for the help!!!!

You can replace the power steering hoses with stock hose from your local auto parts store. Just clean up the pulley with brake cleaner or purple power. Someone found the reservoir is also on some GM product, IIRC. Search the forum for that. The top hose you circled is a breather hose that someone already replaced with stock heater hose.

This makes sense, thanks.

After reading a lot about the power steering system, I think what I am going to do is modify the power steering system according to the NAMP for F/18 F Super Hornet and create the HSU Bleed System (quick release taps) to make it easier next time using stainless steel lines for both. I'll tap a T and then add another T for the cleaning liquid solution and compressed air to make sure its sterile so I don't have to take it off again. I'll see if I can source ISO compliant fittings and report back. The QRF holds 11,000 PSI so it should work.

On second thought, I am also going to modify our radiator hoses with a QRF so I don't have to mess with them again.

I'll try this out for a while and see if its reliable. If not, my engine explodes lol.
