Firstly, no doubt about it...Mike, that is one nice looking top!!!

But...have you guys seen this -->https://forum.ih8mud.com/merchandis...q-soft-tops-oem-style-soft-tops-made-usa.html

These guys are doing a really great job, and the price is much less. If I read the above link correctly the top Mike has goes for around $2200...the top these guys in VA are doing is around $750  Sorry, I really don't mean to be pitting anyone against each other...I was simply impressed so far, and thought I should pass this info along.

I already asked if they can do an accurate 25 top, and it seems that they will look at making them...who has that pattern of the only original FJ25 soft top? Maybe someone should look into working with this group from VA with getting them made...not to take anything away from from the people who made Mike's top, but if the quality is up to snuff, and selling for around $1450 less, I can afford to buy this top made in VA.

What I really need right now is an all-weather cover for the 40 like this --> Cover FJ40 , (I've seen the exact same cover on line somewhere for around $60!!!) hope these guys in VA can get one done with pockets for my mirrors...maybe they can get some done for the 25 as well .

The pricing on mine was mostly due to materials and R+D. I also used OEM style fasteners throughout almost exactly like the original. at 80+ of them x $6-8 each, you do the math. The soft top material is used by Porsche and Ferrari, thats how good it is. I also paid for the R+D costs although Chris gave me a huge break on this. I did this to make THE BEST soft top made, not the best soft top mass produced. When I started this, these guys werent even around. I have no regrets.

I hope they pull it off and will support them however I can, I'd sure love a cheaper canves to kick around in when I wheel. Start a new thread on this, Mod, can you move this?

I sure hope that the work these guys do in VA is as good as it looks like in the pictures (the pictures look great...plus it fits my budget)...and Mike I know about timing...it seems that everytime I am looking for something I am either too late, or I have to build my own...just to find someone else building some a week later for half the price

I've been watching that and been in contact early on. I'm in no rush, let the late model guys with the demand absorb the learning curve and then hopefully something can develop with the early top. ;)
