The belt with the kit was 38" and would not go on even without the tensioner

On the pic look at the tensioner it is touching the small coolant line

Belt and tensioner right up against small coolent

That shouldn't be the belt that I sent in the kit, right? I used the "Gates" brand, part number 7380, which references back to the old diesel Toyota engines. Tried to go OEM route on the belts, but was told that there was only 2 pair in the country available for purchase.

That little coolant line on my rig (and Larry's) is close, but doesn't touch. If yours is actually making contact, you can tweak that line about 1/16" to 1/8" (very gently), and it should then clear.

Did the belt that I sent you not work? Can you verify that it was a 10mm x 980mm belt?

Can you post up a pic of your compressor? The belt sent should be 38.6" (980mm) and on mine, it fits on over the tensioner.

The belt sent was the gates 7380 and did not work, there was no way it was going on, I went and bought a 39" and 40" belt. The 40" was to long. The 39" worked but is tight with the tensioner as loose as possible. My compressor pulley appears to be about the same size as the one on yours shown in the thread, but who knows how many compressor pulley sizes there may be.

The coolant line I messed with for a while and got it about a 1/16" from touching the belt.

All seems to be functioning fine, just the few hiccups on the install.

I thought it may be helpful to post, just in case others may have some of the same challenges.

Now I need to figure out how I want to plumb this in...

Also, hard to tell in that pic, but is that bracket sitting flush up against the head on your engine? If not, you may need to chase out the 2 larger (10mm) holes near the front of the head, as there seems to be some difference in usable hole depth. OR, you could just use the 2 extra washers that I included under the head of those 2 bolts in the event that they don't tighten up all the way.

The bracket is snug to the head, it tightened down nicely. Thanks

OD is 7"

Ok, that explains the belt length issue. "Most" of the 2 groove york clutches are 6" OD, but who knows how many different configs are out there. Good to know that the 7" will work with a bit longer belt.
