the blower resistor dying is a fairly common thing. if you use the mud search there should be lots of threads about where it is and how to pull. sorry i cant be more help. if you PM me your email address, i just finished compiling the 97 LX450 EWD pdf. ill send it to you. it has all the auto a/c parts. way more complex than the LC

Thanks for the last pic. I see the two screw wire connector. Now I am trying to rig a way to get the screws out without taking out the cooling unit.

100% its the AC amplifier... Had the same issue on my LX.. Take it out you may have water or corrosion.

Really? I actually did take it out but didn't see anything obvious.

What was the problem with yours? Did you clean it or replace it?

mine had noticeable corrosion as well but didnt seem to be the issue as of yet. did you pull the boards out of the white box?

Mine had water and had corroded a little bit. When I cleaned it up it didnt work.. So I started searching and found one in Puerto Rico. It cost me around $150 bucks.. But it fixed my issue. I first had changed the actual climate control unit on the dash, thinking it was that. It wasnt. My issues was exactly the same it would turn on but the speed was the same all around. and when pushing the buttons they didnt do anything.

Does this amplifier look bad? Any way to test it?

Resistor will not come out without taking cooling unit off. More searching in order to get that off. Tried to test the resistor with meter. No numbers even similarger to "1.8-2.2 "

that is a picture of the resistor, or maybe sometimes also referred to as the power transistor? that part of the fsm confuses me. the a/c amplifier is a black box bolted to the front of the cooling unit. the a/c auto amplifier is a white box bolted next to drivers right knee. if you continuity check the resistor pins 1 and 2 and the meter beeps, the resistor is dead.

do you still have 2 lx450's? can you pull the good ac auto amp out of the good truck and try it in the bad truck?

Based on the part number stamped on it....it is the A/C amplifier and it was bolted to the right side of the cooling unit. The resistor ? is also on the right side of black cooling unit slightly behing ac amp.

Sweet glad you were able to find your solution. You should add the SOLVED to your thread title and maybe add the link of the other thread you referenced that way who ever has this issue again will have something to go by...
