Hello all .. I wanna know ( read ) experiences of you guys that have un corrected axles on lifted 80 when alignment shops use in wheels sensors ..

this kind of ..

I thought they should see each other within 1/2" of ofset .. to have a clear view of the other wheel ..

? Not sure of the question here. but that looks just like what they used to caster sweep my 80.

I'm pretty sure with more than 3" of lift our axles are offset .. means front to the left and rear to the wight that make more than 1" of difference between both ..

But that varies from 80 to 80 . .. depends on the amount of real lift that you have ..

Ah gotcha. Im under 3" lift so no real knowledge here.

I think that would be for a IFS car where you would do a 4 wheel alignment. Not much to align on these, toe is the only thing they will be able to adjust. they can measure camber, but there is no adjustment for that, and the caster is calculated from the difference in camber with the wheels turned in and out - even if it is low the shop won't be able to correct it unless they are a 4x4 shop. IMO there is really no reason to pay for an alignment, you can get it as close as it needs to be with a tape measure.

actuall about the parameters that you can modify in your setup you are right .. was just curious about the effect that ofset axles would have for example if I need to know my actual caster ..

all of the alignment measurements can be taken from the front axle alone. I'm not sure if the offset axles would cause any kind of tracking problems, anecdotal evidence would say yes, but I really don't know.

The alignment set up you show is a Hunter Engineering alignment (looks like the older model) but they are used with the computer downloading the specs and when it is noted there is no way to align front to back, it will not check that. If you request that to be checked they can program the machine to measure front to back relationship.

thanks for all comments .. still undecided what to do with my rear panhard but it's clear it does not affect my alignment ..

thanks again .. !
