ALCA needs a land-use Rep

Anyone interested in working with me to monitor our relationship with land-use issues in and out of the state?

Thoughts?

Sounds like something interesting, keep me posted. We have a piece of land near Dad and I that we may be able to work something out with for responsible wheeling and land mangment. It is the watershed for one of the local towns, currently people go out there to wheel and tear things up, but we could approach them and see what help they may want and if we could use the land. Haven't been out ther in years and never really wheeled it, but there are some good hill climbs and what not, don't know about rock gardens though.

Maybe they would be interested in a clean up and mapping project?

The liasion would need to stay up to date with land use issues we could support in other states i.e. Tellico as one example as well as work in PA to determine how we can make a positive impression of responsible offroad enthusiasts with an end result of actually finding other places to wheel : )

I really want someone to volunteer to hold the position so we can get started in Jan...

Here is a brief description of my idea for a Land Use Rep ( I realize it is hard to get people to do volunteer work, so this person could make the least or most of it since I know it is volunteer) :

I need someone who is selfmotivated to pursue land use in PA. i.e. find land to use, represent us to places like Rausch and other potentail wheeling spots as liason to possibly open up for use, research history on closures, contact officials with our intentions, and overall improve our situation and impression within PA.

This person must be motivated to pursue support of land use issues outside our state, i.e. Tellico as well as others. Coordinate with land use reps of other clubs, letter write, inform our club as to what we can do to support the cause, inform other clubs of what we are doing here in PA to improve our impression to others, etc. Basically, stay on top of the land use issues abroad as well as at home.

I would like to see some progress this coming year in this area and bring our club to a new level of understanding the inherently important land use issue
