I have a 16’ LX and it’s driving me crazy that I can’t leave my dog in the car without him setting off the alarm.

The Lexus dealership has had my car for 2 days and could not figure out how this is possible. Said they can not replicate an alarm going off with a person in the car. So I brought in my 28lb dog and he sets it off 100% of the time within 2 minutes.
The dealership does not have a solution. I cannot be the only person this happens too.
Does anyone have an idea of how I can stop this from happening?

Could be related to motion detector like regular car alarms. Car is moving = someone is trying to get in.

Man, I get woken up in the RTT when my 60 lbs Catahoula moves his blankets around in the middle of the night. It shakes the truck a lot. And even in the middle of nowhere, I lock the truck with the fob before I turn in. Call me paranoid. But no alarm.

Any chance his claws are hitting the window and it is being picked up by a glass breakage detector?

The dealer theory so far is the window break sensor. But no one seems to know how that works. It’s frustrating that this is something that can’t be resolved

Where is your dog sitting when this happens? Front or back?

Is there some “don’t forget your baby in the car” feature that somehow got turned on?

Dog tags or chain collar that jingle at a frequency that the glass breakage sensor doesn’t like?

Hope this helps.

Try locking it with the manual key. You can keep the manual key separate on your keychain for easy access. The manual key also allows you to lock/unlock the vehicle while it is running.

Thanks, I will try this when I pick up my car this evening. However I would prefer to just disable the motion sensor for good if possible, anyone know how this alarm works?

My dog has stepped on the lock and window buttons while the car is alarmed . I started not alarming the car. The 2 big dogs can hold their own.

Well I don’t want to give the wrong impression, the dealer said the only possible solution might be to adjust the glass break sensor sensitivity, however this would cost 1.5 hours of labor ($200+), and they said they are not sure that it would work, bc they don’t know for sure what’s causing it.

i Wanted to post here and see if anyone had experienced this before I have to spend that much on this. (Which btw seems like a ridiculous price)

The GBS uses a microphone that's tuned to the frequencies of glass breaking. It could be the cause, but worth trying the manual key first.
