It’s only about 12miles as the crow flies from Rosevelt lake to here, about 68mi. Drive distance

Next morning back to the hwy and stopped again at the road house at the bridge over the Maclaren River for lunch and pie and ice cream.

Headed to the Richardson hwy and headed north to a neat area, where you can drive along the top of a glacier moraine (Canwell glacier) made by some miners a while ago.

Next day was the longest drive so far, from here to the Nabesna road. Due to the lateness of the day we called it a day. Next day head to the abandoned Nabesna mine.

Then headed to Glennallen where we parted ways. Jon was off to McCarthy and the Kennecott mine. We headed to lake Louise for our last night.

Next morning headed home. Stopped at the Eureka Lodge for some pie. As we got out I noticed a hot smell and smoke coming from the rear wheels. Both sides where spitting brake fluid and the axle/wheels where very hot. Didn’t realize that the bleeder valves double as pressure relief valves 
. We had our pie and asked the lodge owner for a flat spot to work on the axles. During the trip I had noticed that the rear axles were a little warm to the touch and had decided to check the bearings when I got home. Well, I got to check/adjust them there instead The right side seemed happy after adjusting but the left one stayed warm after two more adjustments. We made it home and will be ordering new bearings and all the seals and what not I will need, probably also brake pads. Wasn’t ready for the vacation to be over.

probably by foot. there are at least two glaciers in this area one can walk to.
