Aisin 80 series factory winch rebuild

Hey all,

Does anyone have any write-ups and/or photos on doing an overhaul on a HDJ81 factory winch? Mine has been acting up lately - grinding, not pulling very strong, I expect the worst but am hoping for the best.

Hey Andrew,

I'd send you the file but it's too big, I torrented it through a link on here and got both HDT and 80 Series Chassis manual.

Maybe I can split the winch section from the rest of it?

As for rebuilding there should be a kit available through Toy maybe, ask Akella or send an email to Dave.

I posted a link to the winch section of the manual in your thread in the 80-series forum. It includes both the mechanical (PTO) and electric winches.

The file is close to 12MB.
