Hello 250 Series Owners!

Air Down Gear Up is pleased to introduce our 250 Series Land Cruiser system. As a brief introduction to anyone who may not know us from other vehicle offerings, we specialize in making premium vehicle storage, sleeping and kitchen systems. Our system utilizes an all-aluminum frame mounted directly to the vehicle via a solid, machined aluminum 'anchor bar'. We focus on integrating as cleanly with the vehicle as possible. We want our system to enhance the appearance of your vehicle AND provide a lifetime of high performance.

We created an exact fit system to perfectly compliment your 250 Series. Our system can be configured with or without the integrated, convertible (and patented!) sleeping platform. The sleeping platform is self-supporting and does not impact the 2nd row in any way. You can run our sleeping platform with or without your 2nd row in place.

The drawers feature full extension, ball bearing slides that provide full and easy access to all of your gear. The slides feature a lock-in and lock-out mechanism (an all-metal component for a lifetime of predictable use) to provide safe, rattle free access to your gear. We utilize a particular slide with adjustable stops, meaning there is ZERO noise from these drawers when stowed. In addition to the lock-in/lock-out mechanism, a keyed lock can also be included to prevent unwanted access to your valuables. The drawers contain 100% rattle-free, moveable dividers so you can dial in your storage exactly to your needs.

The drawers are compatible with both our slide out table and the drawer top work surface. The slide out table is a fantastic addition to the system, as it provide a great place to prepare food, stash gear, hold a drink, run a stove, anything you need! The slide out table is quick deploying and can be used with the drawer open or closed.

This system can also be configured with an integrated Dometic CD30 Drawer Fridge. This is becoming a very popular configuration with our customers, as the powered fridge offers enough space for *most* trips while still providing a flat cargo space above the system for sleeping or other cargo needs. This offers a high degree of flexibility with the system.

Looks great!

Am I correct in assuming it covers the small storage area at the back? What about the one at the front, directly behind the 2nd row? Also, any concerns about heat buildup over the hybrid battery?

Any pictures of what you are getting if you order the platform with no drawers?

If someone orders the platform with a drawer on one side and nothing on the other, what are the measurements of that empty space?

Thanks! This is a great question, and certainly one we expect to answer a lot! Our system has an 'open' bottom, so you will retain partial access to both cubbies. The open nature also helps with any consideration to heat, since we don't start with a floor plate. We gave this considerable thought, and determined that this was the best all-around solution without major compromises to the drawer capacity or SIGNIFICANT complication (read: price tag) to provide full access.

We have encountered this concern on other vehicles, and have found this is a good way to provide a full-size drawer/sleeper system while still retaining partial access to the cubbies. Our thought is the cubbies could be utilized for low-use items that you want in the car, but not necessarily needed regularly.

To access the vehicle front cubbies, you would extend the drawers and flip the 2nd row forward, then reach in. For the vehicle rear cubby, we advise removing the cover before installing our system, and then you will have limited access through the drawer back.

With this being a brand new system we are always a little short on pictures, but here's a shot showing what the system looks like in a 200 series LC with the 2nd row tumbled forward, which is how you would access the front cubby.

As always we never seem to have the exact picture we need, but here's a very old (we no longer offer the blonde birch!) install of our system in a 100 series without any drawers/sleeper. This provides a great starting point for 'tiered storage' and will accommodate drawers and a sleeper in the future if you want to add them.

The width between the uprights is just shy of 18inches, with 11inches of height

Are there any concerns regarding the warning to not exceed 60 kg combined weight on the board covering the battery?

That warning is not for the board covering the battery. It's for the board covering the storage compartment at the very rear.

That weight limit is indeed just the cover for the vehicle-rear cubby. For our system we advise removing that cover completely, so you have partial access to the cubby itself with the drawers extended.

@Air Down Gear Up this looks great, guys. Is the sleep platform fully flat, or at a slight angle? Would love to see some additional photos when you get those spun up.

Will it fit an Exped Duo?
No problems fitting an Exped Duo, that will fit well. We've also recently started using a new sleep system from Kammock called the 'Ursa' that's been amazing(pictured in a 200).

The sleeping platform is *very* close to perfectly flat. With a sleeping pad the caliber of an Exped Duo I would anticipate you wouldn't be able to perceive any incline. Here's a shot showing the sleeper through the 2nd row doors. There's a little bit of an illusion occuring in this picture as the slides themselves are actually angled down, which is how we get the sleeper to deploy flat. These are also 'prototype' brackets connecting the slide to the sleeper, so there's a little weirdness on the end of the slide that will be different on all future systems.
