Air fuel sensor 01 Rav4

I was changing an air fuel sensor in my brother-in-law's 2001 Rav4. The sensor came out hard along with some of the threads of the mounting bung. I don't want to cross thread a $280.00 sensor back into the stripped bung. I also do not want to replace an exhaust manifold that has another air fuel sensor which may do the same thing on extraction.

Anyone know if there is a repair for this? Does an air fuel sensor and o2 sensor have the same thread size and pitch?

Hey man
I buggered up some threads pretty bad on an O2 sensor one time pulling it out.I went to Napa and found a thread tap made especially for sensors.It worked like a charm to chase those threads.Hope this ain't to late.
