My HJ60 now has a 1HZ in it. I want to go to a good flowing air filter. I have a Safari snorkle for it too. My question is is the air filter for a US spec FJ60 the same as the air filter (in the big round canister) in my HJ60? I want to buy a good TRD free flowing air filter and I need it to fit inside my stock HJ60 big round air filter cansiter.

Thanks in advance.

Tom,

Not to start a brand war but personally I prefer the amsoil oiled foam filter over the TRD filter (a repackaged K&N I am told...)

I did oil analysis on both on my duramx and the amsoil kept things cleaner.

They have them available in the big round style.

Army Tanks (thank you). I just want a GOOD free flowing air filter for my snorkle set up.

So then I should be able to buy an 80 series TRD or K&N or Amsoil and plug her right into my HJ60 round case?

Go to a parts house and cross reference the OEM filter to a cheap generic
brand $5 filter. If it fits, wrap it in tin foil and keep it as a spare. Then use
the part number to match against the street squirrel filter of your choice.
Takes most of the guesswork out of the process.
And if that paper filter don't fit, you're only out a few bucks.

I believe the drum style is the same for the early 40's, 62's, 80's, hj60's and bj70's

so yes.. that should be right TB
