I recently felt a power drop on my '75 B Engine BJ40. Figured it needed a filter change and service. performed that and purged the air out and fired it up. Still had a very rough idle. I checked the flow to each cylinder and found that the #2 cyl had none then removed the pipe and discovered there was no fuel coming from the pump. Ack!
My question is: Can the element shown in the phot be removed and cleaned or replaced (if I can find one, of course). This is a far better option than a total pump replacement,
Thanks in advance.
Dave

This is what the pump looks like internally. I assume the tappet rides on a lobe on the crankshaft. ... so the failure maybe a collasped spring or a valve or seal in that assembly. I have no experience tearing these apart, but wanted to at lease give you a starting point.

Thanks. I was able to find the drawing that you sent so I printed it out. Looks like I can take it out and at least exam the parts. It'll be a start

Do any of you have a source for parts for this pump? My searches have come up with nothing. Di find a primer pump for it but that works just fine .
