A couple of weeks ago the left front AHC hydraulic line on our 2006 LC sprang a leak and spayed the exhaust manifold on that side of the vehicle. I got a Toyota replacement hose from an ebay seller and a jug of suspension fluid from a local Toyota dealer and spent the day trying to get the damaged hose replaced. After struggling with removing the old hose (due to its length, bends, and obstacles) I went ahead and cut the old hose to remove it in two pieces. I have now spent around 5 hours trying to get the new hose installed. I did verify that it is identical to the old hose. At this point I have removed the catalytic converter on that side of the engine (breaking two of the three bolts that connect it to the exhaust manifold), and the transmission cross member. This still doesn’t seem like enough to allow the hose to go back in place. Has anyone here replaced this hose successfully? If so do you recall needing to disassemble the entire truck to get the new hose in?

I'm sure more experienced people will weigh in on this.

I have AHC as well, so I keep an eye on AHC related threads and more that once I saw people on this forum commenting that they have replaced all 4 lines without having to do something drastic like dropping the frame. Apparently, it's a bit complicated, but possible. Search the AHC threads and you will see that for yourself.

PTL I was able to get the hose replaced. The key seemed to be getting my son to manage one end of the hose, to keep it from getting bound to various engine components while I forced it over the frame. Getting the end connected to the solenoid took a bit of time, but the new hose is installed. Now I get to replace the broken exhaust manifold studs, do some frame repair (under the crossmember), and then bleed the AHC system…

Do you have the part numbers?

Do you have the part numbers?
I was able to get those replaced this past weekend. I bet I welded 7-8 bolts on each of the broken studs to finally get them out. It was like they had hardened due to their environment. I bought a new set of the castle bolts from the local toyota dealer to reinstall the catalytic converter. I am currently in the process of refurbishing my transmission crossmember before repairing the frame under the cross member and *then* bleeding the AHC system. I don’t believe that there are enough weekends in the year for this part time job…
