Hi Mudders!

I'm looking at a very well cared for one-owner 2011 570. Two things in the service history that have made me pause:

115k:
FRONT AXLE ~|~GUEST STATES 4X4 AHC WARNING LIGHT IS ON ~|~ ~|~PERFORMED HEALTH CHECK FOUND FAULT FOR ABNORMAL PUMP PRESSURE. INSPECT FLUID LEVEL. FOUND TO BE A LITTLE LOW. TOP OFF HYDRAULIC SUSPENSION FLUID . NO LEAKS FOUND AT TIME OF INSPECTION.

57k:
FRONT AXLE ~|~INSPECT FOR AIR SUSPENSION FAILURE; SEEMS LIKE SUSPENSION DROPS TO FAST/HARD WHEN LOWERING ~|~ ~|~SUSPENSION FLUID LEVEL AT NORMAL LEVEL WHEN RAISED TO MAX HEIGHT LEVEL. NO AIR IN SYSTEM. CHECKED OPERATION WITH TEAM LEADER AND LEAD TECH. OPERATION IS NORMAL WITH NO DTC'S HISTORY OR PRESENT 12386

Current mileage is 118k.

Seller is open to me getting a PPI before purchase.

Thoughts? If Lexus PPI finds no leaks or other faults, should I feel comfortable proceeding with the purchase?

Thx!

Charley

Not as far as I can tell.

But I will as soon as I get it.

If it was in the rust belt you should carefully check the #5 hydraulic hard line for rust right where it has the heat wrap above the exhaust. The tube might look good everywhere but it might be completely rusted near and under the heat wrap. I'm replacing it in my 13 LX with 62k miles.

Forgot to mention: it's been in Houston, TX it's whole life

You can pretty much assume dealers never fully flush the fluid even if it’s in the history.

im not sure what to think about the abnormal pump pressure, but the rapid drops are normal for me since I’ve had the rig at 55k.

Also, I wouldn’t be concerned. you‘ll want to do a full flush (5 liters or so of AHC fluid at $15-20/liter) and are probably due for new accumulators (650 + $20 for some ”high end” washers from Mr T And a few hours in your driveway. And you will be good to go. Take all this with a grain of salt, since it won’t be my money on the line. But I did just purchase an LX with 100k miles. It had AHC alerts for low pressure due to low fluid just like that one. Has been perfect ever since flush and top off for 4 months and counting anyways.

Seems fine. Can‘t give purchase advice because we don’t know the color. :flamingo:
