Usually most 265/70R17s will fit with the 6500lb factory hitch. My Rubitreks did not. They run a little large for that nominal size.

I have the exact same tire in the same size and mine fits underneath, unmodified. Just the luck of the draw with how the tolerances are in each specific truck.

Nice roof rack and wheels. What are those?
Yep, as I mentioned above, adding a roof rack will also help erase the mall cruiser look.
It really doesn't take much for the transformation from Mommy car to DAD's Truck. And the best part is form follows function. Everything you'll do has a practical function, Unlike Harley Davidson's, you're not just adding chrome to chrome for the sake of pretty.

RRW RR7-H in a 0 offset. They're a hybrid wheel with both an internal bead for regular mounting or a true front beadlock. Those are the raw aluminum protection rings, but I took them off for now since we've been getting so much snow and I don't want stuff collecting in there. I really like them, but I have a habit of changing them every few months so who knows how these will last.

Rack is a Prospeed rack, and I believe it's one of the lower profile ones on the market currently.

Do we have confirmation on what the biggest 17" tire that will fit in the stock spare location is?

There are hacks to get more clearance: loosen the hitch and sliding it back might gain a few mm. A little judicious grinding can get a few mm. You can swap to one of the 5000lb hitches or remove the hitch entirely. KDSS spacers will drop the sway bar an inch and a half or so. I have yet to try any of those but I'm hoping I can get it in. I go to too many out of the way places to want to go without a spare (arguably where I live is out of the way for most people). And the spare takes up a lot of room in a vehicle that's already kinda cramped for storage.
With the OEM class IV hitch receiver, I think you have just barely more than 31.5 inches of tire clearance. If your 265/70/17 runs a little small, it will fit. If it runs true to size, you can make it fit by airing down and/or squeezing it in there. If it runs larger than the true size, it won't fit. My Pirelli's actually measure right about 32 inches and it is quite apparent they will never fit under there.

I also had issues with getting a 265/70/17 Rubitrek to fit in the spare location, with the Lexus class IV hitch. Was such a pain the the ass to get out one time I never put it back. I have since moved up my tire size significantly and now have no hope for a spare underneath, but it does open the possibilities for additional storage…

look at that deer destroyer!

Looks great. Did you have to make any modifications to wheel well with this setup? I have the exact same tire dimensions, but I run a far-less aggressive Defender LTX. I have heard the tread blocks can be a problem on the KO2s
For my 265/70/17 Pirelli AT+ on 17x8.5 +10 wheels on stock shocks I had to trim off a bit from the inside fender/sideskirt on the front to get rid of the occasional rub. I imagine the K02s would require similar treatment as I believe both tires run slightly larger than the official size (265/70/17 is supposed to measure 31.5 inches but my Pirellis measure about 1/2 larger).

Makes sense. I am also wondering how much offset is playing a role here. I am still running the OEM wheels (+30 offset) without any spacers.
