Great question? I wonder if the autozone bolt was grade 8? ;<)

Is the Toyota oem bolt grade 8? Anyone have the size for this bolt
 
Ditto what Christo offered. FWIW I tried NAPA bushing mount and bolt/nut. And they blew up rather quickly. They're made to about 1/2 the quality, or less, compared to OEM parts: It was obvious comparing them side by side.

Other than when the front ASB bracket broke loose from the frame on my '99 a couple years ago and cascaded into a bad bunch of related issues :rolleyes: the OEM hardware and bushings have performed perfectly.

I assume you checked your main anti-sway bar bushings and hardware along with the frame mounts to be sure they are in 100% good condition?
 
You really can't lengthen it much due to the limited clearance (with diff drop anyway) between the drive shaft and the ASB.

And once we addressed the broken frame mount and went back to Toyota OEM hardware and bushings it has not been an issue. One of the keys is to not over-torque the bushing nut...if you preload the rubber bushings more than what the FSM recommends it places additional load/stress on the risers and the mounting bolts IMHO.
 
My sway bar mount rusted apart, so I had to fab and weld in a new one. I'm using OEM bolts though.

I have always heard what Christo stated as well...

I think my experience with Land Cruisers was the very first time and only vehicle that I have always been told to within 99% accuracy that OEM parts are stronger or better than aftermarket.... Over and over again the Toyota Land Cruiser parts are just made tough.... Not many vehicles out there on market that can say their OEM are as well respected as ours. Just an observation after running Jeeps and Chevies as well...
