Well Smitty and I had an afternoon off and very short notice to get together and get the rigs dirty. I haven't been out for way too long so even something close is better than nothing.

Smit had to pick up a buddy in Newport Beach so we decided to head out to Wildomar OHV and putz around. For those who haven't been there it is not very technical and only covers a small area but there are hill climbs and erosion + sandy soil = more than boring. :D This is also the area we met at for the first get together that spawned SoCal 80's. Enough blabbing, here are pics.

1. First little techincal challenge we found, Smitty did it first but I didn't find out until after that he had a camera.

2. Smit flexing out. If you look close there is a Heep XJ behind him that is stripped, destroyed and probably a theft dump.

3. Goofing off. Hey you gotta have fun where you can find it. ;p

More

1. Smitty picking his nose. :flipoff2:

2. Can you say pinstriping?

3. Cool height/scenic shot.

Last few

1. Bad lighting but Smit coming down a fairly steep part.

2. Me taking a looser side route. Still trail and I am treading lightly. ;)

3. Just because I can. We were running out of options.

Thanks Mo for handling the write-up and the pics. It was really nice to get off the pavement (even though I still had to go back to the restaurant @ night:mad:) Hopfully we have recruited another cruiser fan. Let's do it again ASAP.

Nice!
Its only close to a quick 3 hour drive down for me- you couldve called you know?! I would have been there just like that! :D

On a sidenote: Ill be putting down a deposit tomorrow on a pair of Hanna's sliders. 4-6 weeks wait - YESSSS! I can still pu--y out on rocky terrains til then! ;p

I see Smitty is wearing sunglasses to hide the bags under his eyes as a new Dad! hehehe

What these guys failed to tell us is that their kids are in the back asleep and their wives didnt know they went offroading.

Excuse to get out - "Smitty and I are going to the local Starbucks and just chat about College Saving plans for the kids".
Notice that Mo didnt bring Tillie (offroad partner) - very convincing. :D

Well maybe Smitty had a better excuse (Hon, I need to finish something at the restaurant.). :grinpimp:

Tillie was there and as usual representing the trails well.

I am surprised that Mo didn't throw me under bus for talking to my wife on the GPS bluetooth while crawling and flexing down an incline:cool:.

Dang! That dog is a veteran.
Dont let Tillie watch me run a trail from behind - I can just hear her snickering at my offroad skillz!

I have taught her to be polite and not make fun of the newbies. :D

No school like the old school :grinpimp: but why is mo getting cozy with the bush :hillbilly:

Wildomar is tight for an 80; lot's o stripping that hill to the right of the entrance was really rutted last time we went up and somebody slipped off track and needed the strap.

Glad you guys had some play time while the rest of us where working :flipoff2: the "spy vs spy" run

Cool nice pics. PM me if you guys are heading to Wildomar again. I live in murrieta and work in Irvine so I drive the Ortega twice a day. I'm just itching to take the new rig out in the dirt....

Where in Irvine? I'm at the corner of VonKarman and Michelson.

Ortega round trip - how's the one way construction delay these days?

I work at Main and Jamboree. It's not that bad actually. About 1:15-1:30 depending on 405 traffic..

That's definately alot more fun than I had last week!

It would have been funny to see that Jeep attached to the back of Mo's rig while he searched for a dumpster large enough to hold it though;)

Glad you guys got to have a little fun while the rest of us worked.
