Currently running a Weber 38 and HEI mechanical distributor with no vacuum advance. They have been on the motor for 9 years no issues. I'd like to go back to the factory equipment as time goes on. I've got an 84 carburetor and the 76 ignition system, but from reading it sounds like the later ignition setup from 83 and the 76 carburetor are one of the best factory setups. What are your thoughts?

Personally, I like the Late F ('74ish) carb because of the manual secondary. I dislike the vacuum operated secondary of the later carbs. Plus, it's the carb that came on the rig and it's all I've really known.
I ran the BigCap 60 series dizzy for a long time, It works really well, no complaints, it runs on bearings and might be waterproof. I changed the vacuum advancer to a single diaphragm and swapped in some different springs for fun. Then I found a like-new '76ish vacuum advance dizzy. It has the octane adjuster that I like. So I got a Pertronix for it and I'm running it now. Naturally, I carry the BigCap and ignitor with me. What I really want, a project I've got going now, is a '69 and earlier dizzy with a Pertronix. They have the octane adjuster too, but have that cute little brass oiler thingy that I really like.
The BigCap dizzy is probably the best of all, but it's not that much better than just about any vacuum advance LandCruiser dizzy with a Pertronix in it.

Its been good for 9 years, don't fix what isn't broke. Now if you are planning for putting this other stuff on when your good stuff fails, yea ok

A complete USA-'76 coil / igniter is basically electronic ignition, but, conducting small amounts current across points, not induction. The '76 distributor is vacuum retard, so you might want to change that.

I like the idea of returning to stock. The more complete things get, the greater overall value, in my mind.

The '76 distributor is vacuum retard,
This one might be a '75(USA) or '76(non-USA?) vacuum advance. Pics of OP's dizzy would help...
