I’m sure any wheel would work but i think the airbag is the concern... I get that’s a choice to remove but I would be annoyed by the simple fact that the airbag light would be on. If your wheel is worn, these are fairly easy to reupholster (probably for around the same cost of a momo).

besides needing a resto, i don’t love the wood.

a resistor would resolve the airbag light.

If you want a smaller diameter steering wheel, I'd look into the Lexus GS or IS wheels. I'm fairly certain it will bolt on... it's the other dimensions that are of concern. i.e. how far the wheel is from the turn signal lever. And whether the turn signal cancel will work. I see the benefit of a lighter steering wheel for steering response on a sports car.... I don't see that benefit on the 100.

some things are just aesthetics.

No insight I was thinking of doing the same thing.

I doubt a 21 yo air bag is going to be worth much protection to begin with. Probably more harm than good.

you're going to lose your cruise control also.
to do away with the wood, get an earlier one and use it or re-cover.

I don't know about that statement, there are enough of them still out there and looking at wrecked rigs, they are still working fine.

cruise isn’t lost with a steering wheel change as the cruise is a stalk that can transfer over

for some reason I was thinking it was attached to the wheel more permantely

here’s the stalk. should be easy to adapt.

This was the testing phase lol. Just wanted to show pic.

I cut and resoldered added heatshrink.

I also put rubber spacers in between clockspring n steering wheel. So it wont have any play.

3 wire left cut
