Want to spend some Christmas money on a new radio for the 100.

I have an 05 with the digital climate controls in the nav, so I'll just be replacing the radio head unit thats underneath. Wish there was a way to upgrade the nav but i havent found any info online.

Looking for something that I can stream music from my iphone. My kids have lots of music requests but unfortunately we havent been able to listen to anything but radio since the stocker has no aux port.

If youve used something that you thinks works well a recommendation would be appreciated. Merry Christmas and happy new year guys!

I don't know if it will fit your dimensions, but the Pioneer Appradio looks nifty..I have a Pioneer AVH with DVD player, and I do get lots of use playing DVD's, but I would have preferred the Appradio or one of the Alpine units...

Go out to Crutchfield and search on Pioneer or Alpine,..will give you an idea...

Streaming music is great if you've got it all on your phone, but be forewarned the providers will get stingy on data plans someday..

Agree that the Appradio looks like it could be a pretty good h/u, but IIRC some on 'Mud who have purchased and installed it report that it's still a "beta" version and not yet ready for prime time.

Like El Cid, I've got a Pioneer AVH w/ DVD so the fam can watch movies on long trips. I'll be looking to upgrade to an Alpine down the line if only in hopes for a better DAC.

Im lucky enough to be grandfathered into an unlimited data contract with verizon. Ya they will probably find a way to swindle me out of it one day but for now I enjoy every bit of it.

Will a double din like the pioneer avh fit in my bottom radio slot? Looks like a pretty cool radio.

I'd have to look at a photo to tell...post and I'll take a shot..

Anyone have a stock head unit that "works" from an 01 or the in dash 6 disc? Mine is doing the load / unload grind at start up, would just like to plug and play swap with one that is quite.

Yep. The Appradio3 was a great idea but Pioneer threw in the towel on developing the apps once Apple introduced Car Play so updates have been few and far between. However the new Appradio4 with Car Play has gotten good reviews so far, at least the Car Play part lol.

I'm sad to say I have had the 4 sitting in my office for 3 weeks now and haven't gotten around to getting it installed. :(

Alpine also has a CarPlay HU out but IIRC there was something strange missing with it too. Maybe no Bluetooth?

Interesting article about Apple CarPlay - Pioneer's NEX decks support it and Alpine will soon.

Put a picture up once you have it installed. I know some people that have done two displays in their RX's and needed an adapter to keep the climate controls working in the original top display. They do have those single DIN units with the motorized displays. That would look pretty nifty as well. I am trying to get some info on these guys out of China. It looks like a direct replacement for the factory unit, but no pricing.

I'm wondering if anyone has installed or looked at these?

I'm looking at purchasing a 100 soon and putting this in it but I am concerned about the control buttons on the side of the NAV screen with stock system.

wait, what? no mention of climate control or other info functions. interested in knowing more.....

It looks like the description says it has NAV and dual zone controls built in, but the translation is pretty bad. I would be interested to know more about it though.

For the OP, it would probably be easiest to get a Vaistech or Grom Audio adapter if the main goal is auxiliary audio inputs.

I installed an avic 8000 over the weekend and so far I'm impressed with it. The stock amp was used but I plan on replacing it one I find a suitable sub replacement and 5 Channel amp.

I have the appradio 2. Stock, it is terrible, but, for android users, you can download appradiounchained if you have a rooted device and it mirrors and controls your phone.

I just installed a new head unit. Into my 01. it's a 6 disk. Works great.

I know a guy that installed a BT35 Bluetooth module to stream from his phone on his 06 lx with factory mark Levinson. Probably one of the cheapest and easiest ways to do that on these rigs.
