Pradocruiser - I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to stay on topic and not clutter things up with a new thread. What have you noticed with the resonator exhaust system you have in now as far as noise compared to the original exhaust? I know you said not too loud, but I was just wondering if that means not too loud for a trail rig, or not too loud for a subdivision cruiser? I have a 78 with a 2.4 also and just smashed the living daylight out of my tailpipe for the umpteenth time. As a LWB my departure angle is not fantastic to begin with, and the tailpipe going out the back is the first to go.

The truck is my daily driver so noise levels are important, but also important to not keep pinching off my exhaust. I have a 1KZ on order so I'll be having the exhaust redone as 2.5" when I install the new engine, but I don't want the tailpipe out the back anymore. Do you or anyone else have suggestions about where to send the tailpipe so that I can still have some kind of a muffler in the system? I really like how simple your exhaust is, but I just worry it might be a bit noisy on the highway.

Hey bbbjunk. On the highway not loud at all. In town not bad at all. The only time you hear the exhaust is from 800 rpm to around 1100 then the boost kicks in and the exhaust is quiet once again. Go to u tube and type in lj78 and you will see a small movie with good quality of the sound and make your own opinion. I'am not interested in loud exhaust either and mine dose not bother me at all.

Take care.

Oh yeah x2 on the not so great departure angle problem. I built a rear bumper that pretty much solved that problem. I was getting tired of picking up plastic on the trail. Sorry about the poser pics but that's all I have it's hard to take pictures while wheeling especially late in the afternoon when the crew have had to many consumables.

Take care
