Hi Mud,

Does anyone know how to mount an amp under the passenger side seat? I've installed my audio control d5-1300 to complement my Teyes screen. I've removed the navigation ecu and ML amp. It's all connected and working.

This might help? Most people just mount it under there in the stock location

It says the video is unavailable. Yes, i want to mount it under the passenger seat but I'm unsure how to do it.

Sounds like you've done a similar journey to me - hopefully the photos might help?

This is interesting. Did you bend the factory amp brackets to fit the alpine?

Just a little - if you look at the bottom of the Alpine you can see 2 black plates, we used those as spacers.
Thank you so much!

Good reminder that I need to pull that seat and check how I left things, haha. It was several years ago when I installed the aftermarket amp, and I have vague memories of thinking that I would go back and revisit the mounting at some point. As AvE of YouTube fame says, "There's nothing more permanent than good enough for now."

Did you have to put any special settings on your Teyes unit? Overall my volume output is low and im pretty dissapointed. I have the Teyes rca to audio control d5-1300 dsp amp combo. Used the amp bypass harness from metra to use the factory speaker wire runs. When i turn up the gains it just creates distortion.

Ahh that's no good. I have the audio settings to flat in the T'eyes, and my output is digital co-ax to the Alpine. So absolutely no distortion, apart from the front door cards beginning a slight rattle at volume above about 20 (max is 36) or bass-heavy numbers. Those Zero Pros go hard :). A week in and a very happy camper...

(Edited to add - my Sound -> Power Conditioning -> Gain = 60)

Do you have loudness turned on?

@Biga27110 Are you using the factory Mark Levinson speakers?
I forgot to mention I'm running Morel 602 components and Morel coax in the rear. I'm hoping its just a gain issue in the DSP. I've been messing with it but it seems wrong to turn up the gain so much +12db to get the output to be loud enough. With the higher gain, I get distortion very easily. I'm working on balancing it right now. It sounds much better.

To give you an idea the wind and mud terrain tire noise is almost drowning out the listening experience because of the low volume issue. Running stock amp was much louder but quality wise sounded a lot worse.

I am happy to update. I turned up all the gains and the speakers get loud now with no distortion. I think I was overdriving the rears before. All the gains and delays are set, now on to tuning.

Audio control has a remote knob that can be used as a bass level or master volume knob. Since we lose our volume knob I can set this knob to be master volume which can be convenient. I was also able to plug in my Audio Control D5-1300 into Teyes CC3 usb port and I can launch the Smart DSP app right in the car. No need for a laptop anymore, its all integrated.

These morel maximo ultra components are unbelievable. It sounds like the singer is right in front of you.

Now im looking for a quality SQ 12 inch sub. I have 500 watts RMS at 2 ohms to send to it. I was thinking JL 12w3. Any other options i should look at?

Glad you got it figured out! FYI when I set my CC3 up this week I measured the RCA preamp voltage at 1.5V which helped set my amp gain. T'eyes says it's around 2.5 but that wasn't what my multimeter said with a 100hz track at full output.

I'd recommend the JL W6 over the W3 especially for sound quality.

I had a feeling the RCA preamp voltages from the head unit were low, so I had to push the amp gain way up to get the volume I was looking for. I don't get distortion even at full volume, which is nice but I feel like there is more volume to be had with a HU that has proper RCA preamp voltages.

Check your settings for power conditioning if you haven't. Then we will know for sure your Teyes measurements were maxed out.

I ended up getting an Image Dynamics IDMAX12D4 running at 2ohm. I have yet to install it. They are local to me if I have any issues and they have recone kits which I like.

I couldnt get over my gain being so high i measured my teyes cc3 rca preouts and i measured 350mv. Could i add a line driver to boost this without causing issues with sound quality?

350mv sounds mighty low... Were you measuring with a 100hz tone at full volume? (All RCAs disconnected from amp, of course)

Yes. Using an Oscope, I'm at .44v, but when I turn on loudness, I'm at .75v. I changed power conditioning up and down with no effect. According to Teyes, we are supposed to have 2.68v in our pre-out RCAs.

With the hunt to find power, I went to the EQ and turned everything up, and boom I have 2.68v on my RCA pre-outs. Of course sounds terrible but I found the voltage. Flat EQ is .44v and all bands up on the EQ 2.68v.

Now the question is, is the Teyes specification misleading as no one will listen with EQ bands all on up.
