I won an auction for 1999 lx470. Mileage about 176847. One owner and been regularly serviced at Lexus dealer. I have 12 pages of service records at silicon valley dealer. Owner claims is been garaged most of the time. I haven't seen undercarriage, being California car I believe it has a little to no rust.

I'm getting deal for $6250. And going to pick it up tomorrow.

My couple concerns is an upcoming major service at $180k and my wife's concern is condition of front seats and console. She's hating front seats, console and door tears and trying talk me out of it.

Let me know if I'm getting a good deal or now. Thank you.

Sound like a good deal and as with any 20 year older vehicle you can dive into a never ending list of maintenance of just keep up with the basics and enjoy the ride. As for the seats, less to worry about if they are already torn up but I bet a local shop could re-upholster for you.

Well you said it yourself- you're getting a deal...

Honestly, not a bad price for a good looking truck. Seats and interior is just cosmetic- you can always re-upholster things!

Just noticed the pictures, that is a good looking rig and it almost look like the seat isn't torn up just dirty. Get some cleaner and scrub that ish right up. Under the hood looks clean, it's even got a timing belt replacement sticker and that's a Toyota sticker I think.

Crawl underneath, check for any leaks or signs of rot and if she checks out you found yourself a good looking rig.

That's a very low price. Find a detailer and pay them ~$250-500 to do a really thorough clean and light restoration of the interior. That leather looks dirty, but maybe not torn. If needed, take it to an upholsterer for some new leather.

I'd say that's pretty good deal. Buy it and enjoy.

I paid nearly the same for mine in similar shape, and I never regret it. I think it was a good deal, not great, but better than average. If you can live with that, do it. They are selling faster and faster these days.

Heads up my bottom seat was in that conditon as well plus many tears, i got it redone with a $165 leather seat bottom from Ebay and had it installed for $90 by upholstery shop because I'm not too handy.. that seat made it look uggly now it looks good. I also flliped my hand rests to opposite sides which makes them look new. All in all a nice front seat refresh for about $250. Some folks buy entire front seats for $400 like lseats and replace them themselves im just not that handy. So many options available for seats.

I wish i had a before and after of the driver bottom seat, i forgot to snap picture before leaving at shop, only have picture after installed and after flipping hand hand rest. Link to ebay bottom seat replacement:

Seems like a really good deal, what is the mileage on the truck? You say 180k service so close to that or closer to 200k?
Interior just looks used to me, not torn but could be the photos.
If you have a laptop, check out the Techstream threads and get yourself setup, go through the AHC settings and tune everything and head out from there.

If you like the truck, buy it. Price seems pretty nice and the community here can help a lot with diagnosing what's going on when something weird happens.

I just bought my 99, and had to kinda convince several people I wasn't nuts buying a 20+ year old car to drive daily. It's so cheap (I'm $6500 into mine as well) that I can afford gas and a few repairs.

Looks like a good deal and if you like the vehicle, do it.

Like others have said, pay a pro to detail the interior and/or re-upholster the front seats and I guarantee you'll feel a lot better about it.

My LC seats were in similar shape - I got SOR seat covers for the front, back, and console and suddenly it really felt like it was mine. Unfortunately those covers don't fit the LX, but the re-upholstery costs mentioned above are about the same price as the covers.

That looks like a great deal to me.

Can't get the wife's approval. If someone wants it, I could get you in contact with the seller. Otherwise, he has someone else. I've got all the records from Lexus if someone is interested.

dude, that sounds like a fuggin steal to me. Baseline it and you will be good to go.
