Hi,
Still hadn't put the OME parts I ordered 2 years ago (front and rear).
I plan to do that in the next week (sooner as possible, the cold is coming).
But, as I'm not 100% "rebuilt" (still have pain in the neck and arms power is around 75%) after my motobike accident, I would like to know what were the harder things you had to do (when you did yours).

BTW: I did my 180k maintenance this summer... pictures available on this board help me a lot to be prepared

Thanks

Lifting the torsion bars in and out takes some muscle, especially as you are working on checking your indexing. Those things are heavy.

Thanks,

I guess removing the old torsion bars is the most difficult, especially with rust.

I think cranking down the torsion bar anchor bolts was the most physically demanding single task. To get them torqued to spec, it would be nice if you had a long handled socket wrench or a cheater bar. 2nd one the list is torsion bars. Easier torque-wise, but more of a marathon to get them adjusted.

If you are going to crank tbars a breaker bar (a cheapo from Northern or HF is fine) 30mm socket and a 1/2 drive impact gun are helpful and make it pretty easy. Pneumatic tools make everything easier especially when coupled with a big azz gangster edition air compressor... Use your air tools as much as possible and save your strength... People also complain about swapping out the rear shocks; i torched the tops off mine cause they were shot anyway and they came out easily. The ideal thing to make things easier would be to have use a vehicle lift if possible but most don't have that luxury. I would say get a good night sleep and start early as you never know what you might run into... Get a friend to help and you should be done with everything later in the afternoon... Good luck!

Well, good idea but not easy... I'm not living here for long years and I don't see who I could ask this.
In addition, this is what my garage looks like...
main.php

Not really attractive.

My next house (March) will have a garage... maybe I should wait few month

Impact gun is a good advice ... I remember using them in my father's shop, years ago... help a lot (time and strength)
I'll go visit princess auto next week !

Get a friend to help you and it will be a lot easier.
By the way, I just remember I have a 21year old boy who's still leaving under the same roof ... is more a computer guy, I'll train it :D
Still 9 to14 celcius this week... now or never!
