Need a little advice please.

Last night I changed the oil and the air filter. M1 209 filter / 7 qts of M1 full synth, buttoned it up, no leaks.

Drove it @ 100 miles today, up the hill to some lakes and along a couple of fire roads. Kept hearing a weird whistle noise every once in a while (vacuum line loose?). The AC was on most of the time. Last 5 miles or so of the trip I noticed that the check engine light was on. However (aside from the weird and infrequent whistle noise) there are no apparent issues with the vehicle.

That said, I keep reading about people pulling codes - so I guess I need to be able to do that. However I have no idea what I need to accomplish this task. Three other questions - is the code reader the same thing I am going to need to check N pressure at the four corners for my AHC? Secondly, I need something that runs off a Mac (not a PC). Lastly, once I source the error, how do I clear the code and turn the light off?

Thank you

First task would be to run to autozone or any other local auto shop to pull the code and see what's up. The port is just above the gas pedal.

Next, I'd actually recommend a scan gauge 2. It's a handy tool you can keep mounted/installed in the vehicle. You can set up your own custom Gauge array, but it also reads codes.

You can reference a post here for the full list of codes.

Hope this helps and it's nothing bad.
