It seems to be working currently.;)

They look very nice. I think they should have a video of the "driving over" part. It would boost sales from that alone!

I have seen these in person and they are very light yet super strong. I am looking forward to putting a set in my rig and I like that they can be configured and re-configured for different setups

They look nice. But I have to say, They look the same as what anyboy that in good with tools could do from home.

I believe you are partially right. I think anyone with good tools and the know how to use those tools may make something similar and even better (more suited to their personal needs), but the structural materials the folks at AT use are hard to come buy as an individual and they really know what they are doing. It boils down to having the time to do it, access to materials and tools and doing it right.

I cannot afford their stuff, but I like it a lot and if I had the $$ I would buy.

BTW I like the one you (hawkeye) are building.

so what is the material?

Sorry, I keep trying to remember the name of the stuff... a couple of people have asked me, but I cannot remember. I know it is used on boats and it is some sort of high density poly-urethane foam reinforced with fiberglass.

Like I mentioned in another thread I am probably going to use 1/2" Baltic birch ply.

Exactly, some materials are not cost effective, or even available, to buy in small quantities.

One of the problems I see for the home builder is you need to use a variety of material thicknesses of wood to keep the unit light but strong. Most of us will try to use a single sheet or two of plywood and minimize waste. The result is either a compromise in weight or strength.

Yes, that is true for most. But some of us are more then just "home builders":)

I am very curius about the material they are using for these.

If your not a home builder your a competitor.
Based on my 20+ years of electronics manufacturing I know you just don't share stuff like that with potential competitors.

My "guess" as to what these drawers are made of would be something from the King Plastic Corporation. Maybe their Starboard or Starlite material. I've been wanting to build my roof rack floor with Starlite XL but it can be $$$. King StarLite XL

Just a guess.........

Google "composite RV" you'll find a lot of other choices. Which one works and is cost effective?
