Just doing this write-up as documentation for all, and to see if anyone has a new/used accelerator cable for sale.

Some time ago I noticed delayed shifting from first to second, and second to third gear on my HJ61/12HT/ATM. After inspection and troubleshooting I found that the accelerator cable (also called kickdown cable) was sticking in the sheath that surrounds it, probably due to corrosion or just being old as hell. When I accelerated, the cable is pulled, but the springs on the other end of the cable (transmission side) are not strong enough to pull it back. After inspection of the spring it looked clean with no apparent issues. The cable I believe is the problem. (which if you have a new/used cable for sale please let me know)

I popped the transmission pan off and replaced it with a new gasket and new transmission filter (minus well if your going to do the inspection). The old gasket fell apart when trying to remove it, but that was expected. Below/attached are the pictures.

New transmission filter installed.

Accelerator cable is the "pulled position" (gas pedal to the floor).

If you guys have a new or used cable please let me know. I believe the springs are fine, but even still it would be a ton of work to remove the transmission throttle body and work my way into the springs.

Thanks,
Stephen
