Hot as hell today and noticed while at a stop the AC switching from circulating to taking in exterior air. Anyone have this happen?

Actually had this exact issue 2 weeks ago. Every time it switched back and fourth the compressor was actually turning on and off (like every 2 seconds). Was obviously giving me weak AC.
Took it to my mechanic. They found a couple of random stored rear AC codes and cleared them. Also swapped the AC relay with the mirror heater relay just in case. Haven't had it happen again since.
Long story short neither if us really knew what caused it.
