I've attempted to use the search engine, tried many different ways and came up with 0 results... Browsed my Haines Manual, to no avail.., where is the A/C relay located on my 450?? Thanks

Pretty sure its in the ac computer behind the glove box or pass kick panel. I did ac repairs awhile ago. Sorry if I am wrong but I am 90% sure. Its a black box that is approx. 4x4" by 1" thick. I do have a spare ac computer for a 96 80 if you end up needing one. Not sure if its the same as the LEXO.

I am having ac issues. The condenser is clean, the refrigerant is not leaking and is full, the compressor seems to be working, but every once in a while it's not cold at all. Very random. Could this be the computer or relay?

For no power out to the compressor first thing I did was bypass the pressure sensor behind the battery. Just put in a jumper. If it then has power you know you have low or high pressure in the system. My problem was a bad wire from the pressure sensor to the computer. Very random fault. It took me a few months of fixing stuff and troubleshooting to get my AC working properlly.

Can you show us the location of said wire and or anythjng else that helped get your ac runnin please thx (for scrowley

OK, got home last night and first thing this AM, I paper clipped the plug to the pressure sensor and wha la, the compressor did it's thing, However, I know not much more than nothing about A/C problems. When the compressor is running, my pressure gauge reads 0 lbs... When everything thing is running, with the paper clip bypass installed, the pressure gauge reads at 30 lbs, no cold air,,,, I'm all ears on this, as I hate paying some one to work on my stuff... Thanks for all input :)

progress report,,, so Far I've nearly emptied a small can of 134 into the system, and, the AC compressor runs now without by-passing the sensor array with paper clip... but still no cold air.. how many lbs of pressure should my gauge read with everything running? it still sits at 0 lbs, but with the engine shut off the lbs (at static) are around 35 lbs. I'm assuming this is a false reading as the compressor is not turning, and I'm just getting a pressure reading from the can line, to the compressor.. any thoughts? I'm bound and determined to figure this out.. I'm into it, but it's driving my poor wife crazy... :)

Sounds like you need to go to a AC shop to fill up your system. Been through trying to use the bottles and they only work if your "topping off" but usually don't work when the system was empty. In other words there is too much air in the system. No biggie. Should cost you about $40-$50 and take like 15min with the proper machine. Good luck. Glad the paper clip worked. I wasn't so lucky the first time troubleshooting my problems. Also****have the shop add some dye to the system. So if you have any leaks you can find them right away with a black light. This step would have saved me the first $50 fill.

Fixed,, fancy high tech machine vacuumed, pressurized and leak checked and filled to 1.98 ( OME spec ) alls good and A/C is nice and cold.. We think it wasn't recharged after the radiator was recently replaced.. The other good news, this mom and pop shop gets 80s....

Trying to get my ac fixed is the computer box the same as the relay switch for the AC?
