NWZ - The storm is here
Howdie all
2008 VDJ 200 , just purchased and sorting out a few PO gremlins.
1) - Fault code for servo motor reset as had no AC vent pressure except out the footwells. An interesting point for the older models is they can also experience the same fault as the newer models which i understand in the US (at least) a Toyota notice was sent out to have the software reflashed when the servo motors failed. This required my local Toyota to apparently take the data from the new software and integrate it onto the older model ECU before they could reset the fault code. No idea how they did this but didnt charge me to do, so happy with that,
2) AC cycling. Question, mine is cycling no matter how cool or warm the ambient temp is or setting in a rapid (IMO) and consistent manner. Every 15 seconds the clutch engages and runs for about 12 seconds then repeats the exact thing, yes in recirc mode.
It works fine as far as cold air etc but this cycling seems excessive and too precisely timed with no variations in cycles and run periods for my liking. Perhaps others in a warm climate could tell me if theirs is the same and its just how these big heavy rigs operate but i know other older model cruisers didnt do this.
Its booked to go back in to Toyota but cant get in for a couple of weeks to recheck everything again. We cant legally do our own pressure checks etc unless certified.
