Can anyone give some advise on changing the drier on a '97. I have a mechanic friend who's telling me I have to basically take the front end apart. I have searched.....no joy, and my FSM is on a dead laptop.

I did this last night and it sucks. I used a 10mm socket and a 1/4 drive to remove the bracket holding the drier to the frame then loosened the bracket holding the drier so it could move.

Then use the socket to loosen the inside 10mm bolt toward the PS then use a 10mm wrench between the headlight and bumper to loosen the outside bolt.

I removed the grill to access the line attached to the condenser too so if it needs to come off you have a bit more room to work too.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarification.

I took my front bumper off when I did mine, helped gain access to the drier. For the few bolts that hold it on, I thought it was worth the effort to save on frustration :)

That would be tons easier than my idea. But it can be done with the bumper on. Just a PITA.

I took off grille and headlight. Then it was right there.

Yeah don't take off the bumper I took out the grill and the ds headlight very easy and quick all in all bout ten screws two bolts
