Gday
Was hoping someone might be able to guide me in the right direction.
I have Hzj105 cruiser which the ac has never worked since I purchased it and I have decided to sort it out.

The previous owner had found a leak in the evaporator and had removed it as well as the expansion valle prior to selling the vehicle.

I had the local auto sparky fit up a new evap and expansion valve, condenser looked a bit on the average side so we replaced that as well and and he charged it up. Then when he went to test it he found the button wasn't working on the dash so he brided the relay to test it and all works good. Vent temp was down to 3 degrees Celsius and he put it down to the centre ecu being faulty.

I pulled the ecu and had a look inside, cleaned it up and put it back together and now the buttons working again and light comes on but still the clutch wont engage.
Found the wire from the back of ecu the operates relay, earthed it to ground and the clutch engages fine.
I jumped the pressure switch to rule that out and still no go.

Can anytone shed some light on the issue.

Cheers

I've not worked on a 100 series a/c yet. are there 2 pressure switches? should be a high and a low switch? or a dual switch?

If the outside temperature is less than the set temp the compressor won't kick in. I saw this on my 100 LC.

Hey Nissanh
I am assuming that your referring to the climate control set temperature.
My model is the basic model here in Australia and it doesn't have climate control, just an on and off button and you just adjust it with fan speed.

Hi, I wish I had that simple setup in my cruiser. Anyways, how is your blower speeds? are all speeds working? Is the pressure switch located on high side is plugged in and is working?

haha simple sounds good but not always simple. Blower speeds seem fine and all work.
Pressure switch looks like its on the high pressue side. you have compressor into the condenser and the switch is just after.
Switch is pluged in, I have removed plug and and put a jumper wire across and that still didn't make any difference so I am assuming that its not the switch.

In older toyota's there is a circuit breaker (not a fuse) on the HVAC system. It looks like a big 100 A fuse with a holde in the middle, you have to insert a pin to the hole and press it to activate it. Did you check the fuse to the control unit?

I haven't seen any mention or noticed anything such as that. any idea were it may be located as its worth a look.

Cheers
